Residents of Jujuy remembered the Jujuy Exodus of 1812 with a tribute to General Manuel Belgrano and the men and women who, with great patriotic feeling, carried out one of the most significant feats in the fight for independence.

The date commemorates the actions of the people of Jujuy who received the order to abandon their homes, their belongings and leave the enemy scorched earth.

This Wednesday morning, the central ceremony was held in Plaza Belgrano in front of the monument to the hero, headed by the governor of Jujuy Gerardo Morales, ministers from his cabinet and other authorities.
