<p dir="ltr">A leader of the Revoluci&oacute;n Ciudadana (RC), the party headed by former President Rafael Correa, was shot to death this Monday in Ecuador, in an act that added to the list of attacks on candidates and leaders in the middle of the campaign for the presidential elections of the Sunday and hours after the applicants debated on television precisely security as the axis of their projects. &nbsp; <p dir="ltr">Pedro Briones was shot in the city of Esmeraldas without too many details of the crime being available until this Monday afternoon, reported by several RC leaders, including his candidate Luisa Gonz&aacute;lez and Correa himself. &nbsp; <p dir="ltr">What was known at the moment is that the leader was shot in the chest and head by two men who arrived on a motorcycle, around noon, to the door of the Briones house, in the San Mateo parish, on the outskirts of emeralds. &nbsp; <p dir="ltr">The victim&#39;s wife was able to help him initially but the seriousness of the injuries caused his death, so the Violent Deaths Unit (Dinased) is investigating the case and collecting images from security cameras in the area, according to the digital newspaper Primicias. &nbsp; <p dir="ltr">&ldquo;Ecuador is experiencing its bloodiest time.
