Pope Francis renewed his request for peace in Ukraine on Tuesday, in the midst of the conflict that began in February 2022 with the Russian invasion, as well as "in all the regions damaged by the war."

The Pope called on the faithful to make "a plea for peace, in the Ukraine and in all the regions damaged by the war."

"Unfortunately there are so many," he said when praying the Angelus from the Vatican on the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin.

"The right of force prevails over the force of law," he lamented later, after criticizing that the weapons "cover attempts at dialogue."
