More than 230 migrants were found in the trailer of a truck in Mexico

"While the inspection of the truck was being carried out, blows and screams were heard in the back. When one of the doors was opened, a gate was exposed, girls and boys could be seen supported by adults," reported the National Institute of Migration.

More than 230 migrants from Guatemala and El Salvador were found last night in the container of a truck while traveling through central Mexico, Mexican authorities reported Tuesday.

 

"While the inspection of the truck was being carried out, blows and screams were heard in the rear. When one of the doors was opened, a gate was exposed, girls and boys could be seen supported by adults," reported the National Institute of Migration (INM). in a statement, the AFP news agency reported.

 

The migrants were located by Mexican agents and police on the highway that connects Mexico City with the state of Puebla, in the center of the country.

 

The agency added that 92 adults, 120 minors and 18 adolescents from Guatemala were traveling in the truck bed, along with a man from El Salvador.
